I started the car again tonight, a full 24 hours later and had immediate pressure, the way I should.  I had wanted to take it for a drive again tonight but we got some pretty severe storms today/tonight, so it was just a garage startup again.  Hoping to get her out this weekend, hit up some shows, put some mileage on and see how things behave.

I hope I did.  I'm still a bit apprehensive, but I think so.  I should have went with my gut a long time ago and replaced the pump.

Looks very worn to me.  The last SQ pump I had that looked like that came from an engine that spun a rod bearing.

That's very interesting that you say that b/c I was just telling my wife last night I have a vauge memory of when I bought the car that motor came out of the guy saying it had spun a bearing, but he had dropped the pan and fixed it. I can't remember for sure and I've a few Starquest since then, but if my memory is correct that may explain some things. I didn't really care at the time b/c I knew I was gonna pull the motor and rebuild it anyway, I should have replaced the pump ....
