spoolinturbo
oh and to put that in a 944...that would be HARD! not room wise, but to wrap my brain around mounting it to the tranny haha. but if i could i def would!! i know where an 850 v12 is too...grrr. i still the spare long block for the bmw floating around...but its...a horrible engine routine maint wise. adj valves all the time..bla Edited March 5, 2009 by spoolinturbo
ucw458
Interesting swap, pretty motor but BAD VIDEO. To the dude in the car, USE THE GAS PEDAL. No one wants to see you driving like grandma. A reverse burnout??? My toyota dually can do a reverse burnout, big deal. Video would be cooler if there was a few full throttle runs. Still, good find. Would like to see a better video. Edited March 5, 2009 by ucw458

spoolinturbo
a v12 in that a small 3 series would eff your weight distribution i bet that 200sx handles like crap to be honest. i can see it in a 5 series...and have. If i had a 325...i would put in a later m3 engine in there. many power adders for that car.

Thats why you put it in a 944 or 928 because the trans is already in the right place :moped:
helrazr70
The German V12 engines are not very heavy since they are aluminum head/block. The 6.0/6.5 liter V12 Mercedes engines aren't much bigger than a small block Chevy or Ford and weigh less. I wouldn't do an "exotic" engine swap. Do you have any idea how much those engine parts cost? I do. I worked on Mercedes for 6 years at a dealerhip. Parts are outrageous! All the "65" series AMG cars (CL65 SL65 S65) were rated at 604hp & 734ft/lbtq and were twin turbo V12. The turbos were pretty small. If someone wanted to tweak these engines/turbos (and several aftmkt companies do) you can get 1000+hp from these engines--but at a VERY high cost. Out cost on a bare longblock was $42,000+. speed racer
If I end up keeping the 325 for some time it will get a swap from a much never model. It's an 86 so I don't know how many miles it has left.no idea of actual milage since odometer quit on original ovner long agao with 211K on the clock. Luckily for me the car was well maintained by PO and it's only real problems are age related.I got it when gas was heading for $4 a gallon and I drive 65 miles a day to work and back.At $1.87 a gallon now I can get to work and back home on $5.sweet.it needs a paint job badly but starion gets one first. I used to be so against swapping in any other engine but maybe a 4g63 turbo but now as long as the car drives and not in a JY it dont matter. I have a nice 350 longblock that's for my truck when the 305 dies.Heavy as hell with all cast iron intake, heads, exhaust manifolds and all.But it is assembled and my 2.6 is scattered about the garage. BrazilBoy
stupid swap. that v12 only puts out 300hp and 330ftlb. car is ugly as hell. Yes and no on that..Yes peak power numbers are low..I have driven a few SL600 AMG and man the power delivery comes low but so smooth and lasts deep into the power band..Plus you would be amazed what a chip, intake and exhaust can do.. Plus the exhaust note is amazing.....with an unrestricted aftermarket ofcourse http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=sl600%...mp;FORM=VIVR11#
patra_is_here
the merc amg's make a lot of power. that bmw v12 is crap. it's a 5.2L or something close to that. i just think it's not a worthy swap. that's all.
