StarquestRescue
I clicked on a link on a dsm site and this came up. Having troble with the link. Try this one. and search some. http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/kinugawabilletadjustableturboactuatormitsubishistariontc05td05td05h.aspx http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/actuator.aspx Apparently it is adjustable by changing the springs. I have been considering trying the T3 confirmation of this actuator. My current turbo is a sy/ty t3 20g. It is difficult to make a starion actuator work with the td06 style compressor covers. The main thing holding me back besides the lack of money, is that the compressor discharge ends up where the actuator may need to be. Just thought i would post it up as boost control is a important part of tuning. Boost spike plays havoc with our mas air sensors systems. DieHARDmitsu.
I was in the same boat as you a while ago, 10 years back to be exact. A red 87 TBI car with an 06 20g. I ended up using an actuator from a 1980's Svo Mustang.A 3/8 aluminum plate/adapter bracket was cut drilled and tapped to mount the actautor It held more than stock boost, don't remember the exact amount 14-15 psi I think. Here's an MHI 19c TD06 mounted to a motor I built. Even though it was a TD06 turbine housing, the location of wastegate flapper valve, swing arm was alsmost the same as 12a Td05's http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/DSC00221.jpghttp://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/DSC00583.jpg An actuator from a FUSO truck or others that use MHI(mitsubishi heavy industries) should be similar to the one shown in PIC^^^ and can be mounted with a little fab work. It would be better suited for the level of boost your TBI beast pumps out Edited May 20, 2013 by DieHARDmitsu.
DieHARDmitsu.
Just curious, where is the actuator hose hooked up to on your car?
StarquestRescue
I actually have a aftermarket surge ported cover. This is a mock up picture. The starquest actuator does not have enouth travel to open the gate fully either. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff45/StarquestRescue/T3%20Turbo/DSC03231_zpsab975e4f.jpg

DieHARDmitsu.
Wastegate actuators found on Diesel turbocharger tend to have more arm travel than ones on EFI turbo application. A Holset hx35 wastegate actuator should have a good amount of arm travel and stiffer diaphram/spring. They are a dime a dozen. Edited May 20, 2013 by DieHARDmitsu. Shelby
shorting the waste gate arm anchor point will increase travel on the oem controller
jszucs
Can't you just clock the turbo if the discharge is in the way?
StarquestRescue
I am interested in this as well. Don't think your link worked as intended.Try this one. It shows a bolt on adjustable actuator for a starquest turbo. They have many styles of brackets and rods using this actuator. http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/kinugawabilletadjustableturboactuatormitsubishistariontc05td05td05h.aspx Just curious, where is the actuator hose hooked up to on your car?A nipple on the discharge. My 18g cover had the nipple at the beginning of the volute like your 19c. There is lower pressure at that point. I have tried various points. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff45/StarquestRescue/T3%20Turbo/DSC03250_zpsaa026829.jpg shorting the waste gate arm anchor point will increase travel on the oem controllerTrue, but it may make it to sensitive and perhaps be difficult to undo. Now an adjustable pivot point could be useful.
StarquestRescue
Can't you just clock the turbo if the discharge is in the way?Not very much as a want to retain my chrome hard pipe. Power steering reservoir and air flow meter also limit what can go where.
